REPUTABLE GLOBAL CONSULTING FIRM is currently expanding their team of Consulting professionals.
Main Purpose of the Role :
To work across the company's various sectors and to support short-term management consulting and longer-term project implementation assignments. The engagement manager will manage multiple streams of work within projects through their project teams and be responsible for anticipating and mitigating risks while ensuring delivery.
One would describe you as possessing strong management or strategy consulting experience and skills, combined with having exposure and demonstrable interest and multi-perspective views on international development around issues related to climate change, nature-based solutions and natural infrastructure. You are an energetic problem-solver who is open-minded and has solid commercial acumen.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Defining client problems concisely and developing hypotheses to identify solutions
- Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis to drive the proposed solution, which includes:
- Quantitative research methodologies such as data mining, creating financial models, and performing quantitative and fundamental statistical analysis. Candidates should be financially and commercially confident, as this will be a core role requirement.
- Qualitative research methodologies, including market research and collecting business intelligence.
- Owning the consolidation and production of high-quality policy, economic, financial, business model and institutional analysis to support the delivery of client projects.
- Presenting findings to clients, partners and senior decision-makers in government, development finance and the private sector with a high level of confidence.
- Managing cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams to tackle complex business, economic, social and environmental challenges, focusing on Africa.
- Making an active contribution to developing new business opportunities and proposal development, which may also include the development of thought papers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
- An Undergraduate and Masters degree in a relevant field including (but not limited to) Economics, Management, Engineering, Finance, International Relations, Law, Development Studies, Public Policy or Politics.
- 7+ Years management consulting experience gained within a consultancy, development finance or a relevant corporate setting. At least 4 of these should be in a recognised management or strategy consulting firm in a front-line client-facing role.
- Experienced in managing and delivering consulting assignments in relevant fields (energy, climate change, natural resources, climate finance, public infrastructure) and comfortable with client and contract management.
- Proven financial analysis, project management and project budgeting knowledge and skills.
- Comfortable with undertaking and guiding junior colleagues in the delivery of quantitative analysis in Excel.
- Experience of working in Africa and other frontier markets is preferred.
- Foreign language proficiency in French or Portuguese is advantageous.
